Report Domain Abuse

BM Domains works to ensure the names registered with us are not used for anything unlawful or harmful. If you believe a domain registered through BM Domains is being used in an abusive way, please let us know at the earliest opportunity.

What Counts as Abuse

Domain abuse can take many forms. Examples include, but are not limited to:

  • Phishing, or impersonating a genuine organisation or website
  • Distributing malware, ransomware, or other harmful software
  • Fraud, scams, or other deceptive behaviour
  • Spam or unwanted bulk messaging
  • Infringing intellectual property rights
  • Any other use that runs counter to UK law or Nominet’s policies

Reporting It to Us

Abuse reports should be emailed to the address shown on our Contact page. To help us investigate, please try to include:

  • The domain name involved
  • A clear, plain description of what is happening
  • Any supporting evidence, such as web addresses, screenshots, or email headers
  • Your own contact details, in case we need to follow up with you

What Happens Next

Every report is reviewed promptly and handled in keeping with UK law and Nominet’s policies. We will confirm we have received your report without undue delay, normally within one working day.

Where abuse is confirmed, we will take suitable action — this might mean contacting the registrant, suspending the name, or referring the matter to the proper authorities. For legal or confidentiality reasons, there may be things we are unable to share with you about what we have done.
